This Is NOT An Activerain Success Story.....
But it's still a success story!
I wrote this post on 5/26/10 titled: Buying A Co-op On Long Island.
I'm happy to report that we had a successful closing on it yesterday! This purchase was problematic every time you turned around. It wasn't major things but little ones that could drive anyone batty! My clients were never at fault. Anytime they had to do something they did it without hesitation because they knew if they didn't it would hold things up.
Within the first 5 minutes after sitting down at the closing table there was a problem. My client turned to look at me and I could see she wanted to cry. I motioned to her that everything will be ok. To keep it private I cannot go into details but a document was needed and no one told us it would be needed. Even their Attorney didn't know and it was something she wouldn't have known. Only the mortgage Broker and processor knew. All of us were assured nothing else was needed right up to the morning of the closing. I made a few calls and the rest of the closing went off without a hitch. I can't stress enough how happy they were which made me happy for them.
Afterwards, they gave me a candle holder with a scented Yankee Candle inside which I thought was very sweet. What touched me the most was their Thank You card:
I cried when I read it because it touched me greatly. Yes, I worked hard for them but that is my job. I do not expect gifts from my clients. The greatest gift is when you see positive results after dealing with so many negatives and the joy you feel when your clients get the keys to their new home and seeing the smile on their faces. There is nothing better than that in real estate and in life!
