- Expect a lot of these homes to be short sales. If you find a home you love, then go the distance with a short sale. Just make sure your agent and the listing agent are well-versed with short sales!

If you are smart, you will buy a home that you can move into and fix up over time. Right now we are experiencing many homes at low prices and coupled with all-time-low mortgage rates, you would be crazy not to buy now.
Of course, there will always be that diamond in the rough from time to time. If you want to wait for it, then wait. If/when you find it, grab it because those homes are off the market in no time!
