Closings Can Bring On Mixed Emotions
Closings are a happy day for sellers and buyers. With all the issues that can and do come up while waiting for closing day, closing day is a relief for all.
For me, I find closing day to be a mixed bag of emotions.
Today I have two closings back to back. My homeowner sold his West Babylon NY Co-Op that I listed in December, 2010. We went under contract 72 days later. He is also purchasing a beautiful home in West Babylon NY.
My client was wonderful to work with. Both a seller and a buyer, he has put up with so many issues that arised during both of these transactions. All the time remaining calm, cool and collected. He gave me two transactions and that I am grateful for.
We had fun while house hunting. Saw strange things and had many laughs. I always say house hunting should be fun!
It doesn't take much to make me cry tears of joy or sorrow. I'm an emotional sap. Today is going to be no different. I'm so happy for my client. Seeing someone beaming with pride and joy is enough to turn the waterworks on. I will never forget the huge smile on his face when he signed the Purchase Agreement for his new home 2 months ago.
I get to be a part of closing a chapter in someone's life and helping them move on as much as I'm a part of helping them start a new chapter in their life. This is what being a real estate agent is all about and I can't imagine doing anything else!
