Celebrity Autograph Collecting For Kids And Adults
My son, who is 14, has been collecting celebrity autographs for about 4 years steadily. It's a lot of work, but he's having a blast! He's learned a lot and is a member of www.fanmail.biz which is free. The members there share what autographs they received, how long it took, if it's a true signature or secretarial signature, etc. Here is how to get started:
- Join www.Fanmail.biz - Like I said, it's free and you will learn a lot!
- You have to supply postage for the SASE and for the outside envelope. So, stamps, 9x11 envelopes and printer ink will make a great gift to the hobbiest in your life. That is all my son wants for his birthday and Christmas!
- You have to sit down and write a note to the celebrity asking them for the autograph. Most of them will do it.
- You have to include a picture of the celebrity that you want signed. Most of these hobbiests get them from Google. Technically, you are not supposed to do that but celebrities will only sign the pictures you send them. Sometimes they will include another picture of themselves.
- Make sure you have a postal scale. You can get them cheap on Ebay.
- There are also autograph magazines you can subscribe to and I did the search on Google for your convenience: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=autograph+magazines&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
- Hold off on subscribing to magazines. Get advice for that at fanmail.biz They will guide you in the right direction.
Most of all........have fun with it! My son does!
