Did You Know That "Fuzz" Can Kill You? 
See that little bunch of dryer lint? It can kill you.
Last year, a close friend of ours has a sister that lost their home to that little fuzzy guy in the picture to the right. Their teenage son was asleep and woke up to the sounds of the smoke alarm. He walked into the kitchen to see it was engulfed in flames. He grabbed the dog and left the house. He called 911 and by the time the firemen came, the house was completely taken over by the flames. It only took the firemen a few minutes to get to their home.
Their home burnt right down to the ground. They lived in a trailer for months while their new home was being built. Thankfully, their son and family pet were able to get out without being hurt or worse.
So, for those of you who do not clean out the lint, you need to do it! It's not enough just cleaning out the lint trap that is found at the top or just outside the dryer door. You have to clean the back of the dryer in addition to the hose. I do this every 3 months and it's easy.
Unplug the dryer, pull it out so you can get to the back of it, and unscrew the back cover. You will be amazed as to how much lint will be in there! Trust me, you'll be able to make a sweater out of it! Then, clean out the hose. I bought this kit at Bed, Bath and Beyond:
