I'm a Realtor. I get up early even on the weekends. I got up at 7 and this is "sleeping in" for me.
At 8 a.m. my dog starts to bark so loud I jumped right off the chair. Then I hear a knock on my door. "Someone better be dead" I said to myself. I open the door and there are 2 Jehovah's Witness with 2 reading booklets.
"Hi, my name is........" before they got to say their names, I told them that I'm a Realtor and she interupted me and pointed to my car that has my car magents. Yes, that's me but here is my point....
I try to get new business by door knocking. Do you have any idea what would be said or even done to me if I knocked on doors at 8 a.m.? I'd be drawn and quartered and that would be lucky!
They proceeded to hand me the booklets and I told them no thank you. I was trying to be polite. So much for that. She was trying to talk to me some more and I said no thank you and please leave our development and do not go to my neighbors. Again, she tried to talk to me and I said, "you know, Jesus would never knock on a door at 8 a.m. Why don't you follow suit" and then I closed the door.
I watched as they proceeded to leave to make sure they were not knocking on my neighbors doors.
As a Realtor, when I hear the word no from a homeowner, I say thank you for your time and I leave. No stall tactics ever. I can understand the word no. Why can't others do the same?
