Is It Attitude, Name Recognition, Or Both?
Things have finally calmed down after switching brokerages. At least the moving in part has.
A few months before switching, I do remember not being myself. After knocking on hundreds of doors, a few thousand phone calls, holding open houses for other agents, getting out there and meeting people, going through 4000 business cards in 5 months, all with little results. That can make anyone not happy. I never brought those feelings to the table when I was with anyone. No one ever knew I wasn't happy except for my husband.
So here I am at my new brokerage. Still feeling uncertain about the future of my career which I love.
This past Sunday I held an Open House for my short sale listing. Had a few people. A really nice couple walks in and they were with me for about 10 minutes. They asked me if I could come over an do a Market Analysis. Right, like I'm going to say no, lol. We made the appointment then they left.
Then, 10 minutes later I get a call from a woman who drove past a condo development that I have blogged about. She said she went home and Googled it and found ME. I was #2 in placement right under the builder. So, she wants to see it with her Mom because her Mom lives out East on Long Island and her daughter wants her to be closer. I show it to them and they both love it. We went back to my office to write the offer and Mom is getting her pre-approval today. They are both very, very nice people.
After the day is over, I go back to my office. Spoke with another Realtor there and told her about my day. She said she was having the same day. I told her, "things like this do not happen". She said, "yes it does and do not question it".
Last week I listed a home that expired. A few weeks prior to that I sent the homeowners my expired letter and got the call to come over. The day after that, I get a call from a homeowner who has a co-op and she received that same letter. I'll be listing her co-op when she gets back from vacation next week.
Then my Broker showed me my Google rank for my website. I'm #3 right under our office websites. I do not pay a dime for that ranking.
Yes, I'm back to myself. I truly believe the name recognition is playing a part in all this. How can you go from breaking your back and having blisters on your feet to just breathing and getting new business? It it what it is and I'm not questioning it.
