The Holidays Are A Fun Time - Let's Also Not Forget Our Responsibilities!
Who doesn't love the holidays? It's a time for families and friends to get together. There is fun in the air. Then we have party after party. Whether it's hosting a party at your home or the office parties. We have so much fun and some forget about responsibilities.
I'm talking about drinking and driving. Every year at this time we see on the news about home many adults and children that have been seriously hurt or killed because someone decided to drink and drive.
When you drink, do NOT DRIVE! It's that simple.
Everyone thinks they can "handle" it. I don't care how much you weigh. I don't care if you only had one. One is more than enough. One drink can change the lives of many. Just ask someone and you will find at least one person who's life changed because of drunk driving.
If you want to drink this holiday season, get a designated driver. Give them your keys before you drink. If you are hosting a party and you see someone who shouldn't be driving, drive them home. Call them a cab and pay for it if you have to. Get someone else to drive them. Let them sleep over. Whatever it takes to keep them and everyone else on the road safe.
If you are still thick-headed about it. Think about how you would feel if your loved one was hurt or killed by a drunk driver. Think about how your life would change because of it. Think about the never-ending sadness you and everyone else would feel for the rest of your lives! Think about how the family and friends of that person who you hurt or even killed because you thought you could handle it.
You can have fun without drinking. If you can't, then you have a serious problem.
And remember, the police will be out there in full force with their drunk driving road blocks throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
