I've seen comments such as: "It screams Rookie!", "I would never wear a badge because it would ruin my clothes". <excuse me, but the magnetic ones work and they work well>
Over the weekend I walked into a local drug store and the store Manager said, "How's the market?" I told him it's busy as anything and the Spring selling season hasn't even started yet. We did get into a conversation about short sales, but that is not the point.
The point is this, it's starts conversations. Strangers approach you instead of the other way around. It's more comfortable for them. It's another way to generate business and establish new connections. How does that scream rookie?
I know agents locally that are in real estate for 10, 15, 20, and 30+ years and wear THE BADGE.
I looked up my contacts database and I saw that I put in 13 future clients into it last year because I wore THE BADGE in public places. Talk about generating leads for the future!
It can happen anywhere. The post office, library, grocery store, car wash, baseball games, parks, restaurants, your favorite coffee house, drug store/retail stores, when you get your hair cut and pedicures. The list is endless!
So, wear THE BADGE and wear it proudly! You never know who will approach YOU next! When that happens.......thou shalt DO THE DANCE!
